LONG RANGE PLANNING
Long range planning staff draft and maintain plans pertaining to future land use to guide growth and development. The Future Land Use Plan (2004-2025) is a compilation of development trends and elements brought together that describe the City’s official vision for Wilmington in the coming years. The Plan is designed to respond to the challenge by setting a positive course for Wilmington’s future. Based on an analysis of where Wilmington is today, the plan has a vision and directs the way the community can move. The plan focuses on principals, objectives, measures, and strategies to help achieve the future we desire. The staff also works for future enhancements with the land use CAMA Plan, neighborhood plans, corridors plans, the Vision 2020 plan, and brownfields.
